HOW TO USE IT

- Snacks & desserts
- Bread & crackers
- Pancakes & waffles
- Savory dishes
Since my SO is currently on a gluten-free diet, I decided to try this Organic Quinoa Flour and make some biscuits. Those flopped, but it was my fault for just substituting this for regular wheat flour. Next, I tried pancakes, using a recipe from the website listed on the package. Those turned out great. They were fluffy and nutty flavored and were a breakfast hit. I like that this flour is organic, and I like that quinoa is known for being a healthy food. Things to remember when using this flour include that there is no gluten so it will not work exactly like processed wheat flour. Find recipes for quinoa flour instead. The taste is different than processed wheat flour. It is nutty and robust. So take advantage of that. Overall, I feel this is a reasonable value. While the current price point feels a bit high, this is high quality organic Quinoa flour.
This HerbaZest Organic Quinoa Flour comes in a resealable bag. The flour is finely milled and easily mixed in whatever I made with it. We used it for some pancakes and they had a nice slightly nutty flavor to them. This is a nice flour to use for baking too. Good nutrients
I ordered this on a whim to incorporate into my sourdough loaves and it is a fun addition. It behaves a little like adding rye flour, so I had to be careful to ensure that the bread wasn't too dense and still had lift. The container itself is my least favorite style for measuring out flour, so I have moved it into a container. The flavor is that nutty neutral of Quinoa in flour form, it does not have a strong taste or smell. I think it would also be great in a pasta/gnocchi, etc.
I have friends who are gluten-free, so I got this quinoa flour to make pizza dough. Quinoa flour imparts a nutty flavor and a chewy, yet sometimes crispy, texture to the crust. I got an amazing thin crust recipe that uses 7 ingredients. This quinoa flour is excellent flavor and quality. The pizza taste was perfect and my friends loved the pizza. I can eat gluten but loved the nutty and chewy texture of the pizza dough. Also, it was super simple to make without the kneading and waiting for the dough to rise. If you have never tried quinoa flour, you are missing out.
A product of Peru this one pound pouch of USDA certified organic quinoa flour is gluten-free and seems very fresh. It has a variety of uses but I like to use it in pancake and waffle batter because it not only boosts the protein content but also adds a crispy texture. For whatever favorite recipe is being used no more than half the flour should be replaced with quinoa flour. Note if unfamiliar the flour can add a bitter taste after it is cooked so to mitigate that the flour may be toasted either in the oven or in a dry frying pan (directions can be found online) which not only resolves that issue but also adds a delicious nutty taste to the flour. To estimate shelf-life at the time of this review in July 2025 the Best By date is May 2027 but dates will vary.
