El extraordinario Aguaje

Historia y tradición

Known as the “tree of life,” the moriche palm has long provided Amazonian communities with food and useful materials. Although deeply rooted in South American traditions, aguaje only recently began gaining wider recognition beyond its native region.

Nutrientes y compuestos

Aguaje is exceptionally rich in beta-carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, and also provides vitamin E, fiber, healthy fatty acids, carotenoids, phytoestrogens, and other naturally occurring plant compounds.

Versatilidad culinaria

Aguaje is widely enjoyed fresh throughout the Amazon, where the fruit is used in juices, ice cream, and popsicles. Beyond its native region, aguaje is most commonly available as a powder, offering a convenient way to enjoy its remarkable nutritional profile.
