El extraordinario Amaranto

Historia y tradición

Amaranth has been cultivated for thousands of years and played an important role in the diets of ancient American civilizations. Today, it remains deeply connected to the agricultural heritage of the Andes, where it is still widely known by its traditional name, kiwicha.

Nutrientes y compuestos

Naturally gluten-free, amaranth contains all nine essential amino acids, making it a complete plant protein. It is especially valued for its lysine content, an amino acid relatively uncommon in most grains, and also provides dietary fiber, iron, calcium, and other essential nutrients.

Versatilidad culinaria

Traditionally used in porridges, beverages, and other staple foods, amaranth can now be enjoyed in a variety of forms, including whole seeds, flour, flakes, pops, and crispies. Its mild flavor and subtle nutty notes complement both sweet and savory recipes.
