El extraordinario Camu Camu

Historia y tradición

For hundreds of years, Amazonian communities harvested camu camu directly from canoes as the fruit ripened along flooded riverbanks. Although long treasured locally, camu camu gained worldwide recognition thanks to its extraordinarily high vitamin C content.

Nutrientes y compuestos

Camu camu is renowned for containing 30 to 60 times more vitamin C than an orange, making it one of nature's richest known sources. It also provides naturally occurring flavonoids, anthocyanins, carotenoids, and other antioxidant compounds that complement its nutritional profile.

Versatilidad culinaria

Camu camu has long been enjoyed fresh throughout the Amazon region, where its tart fruits are incorporated into beverages and traditional foods. Outside of South America, the fruit is most commonly available in powdered form, making it easy to add to smoothies, yogurt, ice cream, and snacks.
